Your Safety
Your safety is not an afterthought at D8 — it's built into how the platform works. This page explains the personal safety tools available to you and what to do if you ever feel unsafe.
Managing Your Visibility
You don't have to be visible to everyone all the time. You can pause your profile or manage your visibility from My Account, or control where you appear sphere by sphere through each sphere's individual settings. While paused, your profile won't appear to other members and you won't receive new matches. Your existing conversations remain intact.
If you need to step away entirely, you can deactivate your account from My Account → Account Status.
Reporting and Blocking
If someone makes you uncomfortable or violates our Community Standards, you can report and block them directly from their profile or from within a conversation. For full details on how reporting works, what happens after you report, and how enforcement decisions are made, see our Reporting & Enforcement guidelines.
A Note on Meeting in Person
D8 is designed to help you build real connections — and for many of those connections, that means eventually meeting in person. When you do:
- Meet in a public place for the first time
- Let someone you trust know where you're going and who you're meeting
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it's okay to leave
- Never feel pressured to meet before you're ready
If You're in Danger
D8's moderation tools are not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
